Finding Sculpture

Born in 1964 in Brixen, Thaddäus Salcher grew up in close proximity to material. In his father’s studio, he learned at an early age to work with wood and to listen to matter. During his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, stone and metal were added. The forms of the sculptures emerge from a dialogue with the material and an inner, unconscious process.
